It is named of the saint Patrick, the most popular saint in Ireland. He was born in the third century and died on March, 17th 1461** The holiday became an official holiday in Ireland in 1903. It is now a five day celebration where many people wear the color green, have parades, festivals, concerts, fireworks, performances and drink a lot of beer.
